A roof valley is where two sloping roofs meet and rainwater is channelled downwards, usually into a gutter, but sometimes onto a lower section of roof. It should not be confused with a gully which is horizontal.
Roof valleys are prone to leaking, especially during heavy rain. How you repair this part of the roof will depend on what the valley is made from. Roof valleys can be constructed from the following materials:
- Lead
- Concrete or Clay tiles
- Fibreglass
- Steel
- Rubber
